MelTS Melody Translation System
نویسنده
چکیده
MelTS is an automatic harmonization system that creates multi-part arrangements in the style of the data on which it was trained. The system approaches the problem of harmonization from a machine tranlsation perspective, modeling the melody of a song as the source language and each harmony as a target language. The approach stands in contrast to previous approaches to the harmonization problem, which have primarily taken two forms: satisfying rules provided by music theory or predicting the chord under the melody. A major benefit of the MelTS approach is that the style of the harmony voices can be learned directly from the training data, just as vocabulary and structure can be learned from a parallel corpus of natural languages. In particular, generating harmony lines probabilistically and individually, as opposed to by rule satisfaction or as a consequence of a predicted chord, allows for the production of more natural arrangements without the need for simplifying assumptions about the structure of the music to be produced.

Optimization of A Thermal Coupled Flow Problem of Semiconductor Melts
In this paper we describe the formal Lagrange-technique to optimize the production process of solid state crystals from a mixture crystal melt. After the construction of the adjoint equation system of the Boussinesq equation of the crystal melt the forward and backward problems (KKT-system) are discretized by a conservative finite volume method.
متن کاملDeveloping Self-adaptive Melody Search Algorithm for Optimal Operation of Multi-reservoir Systems
Operation of multi-reservoir systems is known as complicated and often large-scale optimization problems. The problems, because of broad search space, nonlinear relationships, correlation of several variables, as well as problem uncertainty, are difficult requiring powerful algorithms with specific capabilities to be solved. In the present study a Self-adaptive version of Melody Search algorith...

The book Gusheh: Iranian Melody Culture is the result of thirty years of Arshad Tahmasebi’s life long work, and has undergone a shift in some of the key concepts due to the length of time it took to be written. These changes especially include the great changes in scholarship and music research in recent years. Nonetheless, closer studies show that this book is still very helpful and beneficial...
متن کاملThe Design Method of a Melody Retrieval System on Parallelized Computers
This paper describes the design method of a WWW-based melody-retrieval system which takes a sung melody as a search clue and retrieves the music title from a music database of standard MIDI files(SMF) over the Internet. The most important thing in building a melody-retrieval system on the Internet is to achieve both high matching accuracy and quick search. It was, however, quite difficult to si...
متن کاملMobile Melody Recognition System with Voice-Only User Interface
A melody recognition system with a voice-only user interface is presented in this paper. By integrating speech recognition and melody recognition technology we have built an end-to-end melody retrieval system that allows a users to do voice controlled melodic queries and melody generation using a dial-in service with a mobile phone.
